Some Paramount Sound Comedies
Posted: Thu Nov 05, 2009 4:06 pm
To complement Steve Massa's list from a couple of weeks back of silent Christie comedies released by Paramount in the late 1920's, here is a listing of some of the sound comedies released by Paramount in the early sound era. These sound comedies were produced by Christie Film Company, Phil Ryan and Arvid Gillstrom for Paramount between 1928 and 1934. These were all produced in California, and the list does not include the many comedies produced at the Paramount East Coast Studio in Astoria, Long Island, or the Mack Sennett comedies released in 1932-33. Clearly this list is a work in process, and benefits enormously from a number of additions made by Mr. Massa. Any more additions, corrections and comments are welcome.
