For me it was especially nice to see Sidney Fields here. I recall seeing him perform the “Crazy House” sketch on The Jackie Gleason Show where he was tremendously funny. A shame that no one interviewed him extensively about his long and varied career. There’s a scant few mentions of an interview in one of the early Abbott & Costello books, but overall, what a wasted opportunity.

I checked Jordon Young's The Laugh Crafters, his collection of interviews with radio comedy show writers, but alas, Fields died before Young could get to him.

Thanks for checking, Rob. Incidentally, I just responded with a resounding “YES!” to Rob Stone’s survey on Kickstarter, regarding interest in a forthcoming book on the films of Mr. & Mrs. Sidney Drew that’s coming from you. Ready to sign up, and I’m certain there are plenty more like-minded readers. Congratulations and thank you for tackling this very worthy comedy couple!
