Ya' heard it here first folks, and say, if you are coming to Cinevent, and you happen to be a Charley Chase fan, you might want to come to my Charley Chase program as we will be repremiering a Charley Chase comedy that has not been seen in it's complete form in many decades.
We will be showing a full two-reel version of THE WAY OF ALL PANTS (1927) from a new print struck for a restoration in progress from material that came into my hands awhile back and of which we have been doing said restoration of with Steve Stanchfield and Paul Gierucki. A condensation of this short was showcased in Robert Youngson's THE FURTHER PERILS OF LAUREL AND HARDY, but no complete materials had been known to exist until now. We did not know until today whether or not the print would be ready in time for the show, but it is, so we thought we'd let you all know.

Where was the print found? At a falafel stand on the Czech border? Underneath the melting Arctic ice floe? At another Midwest rummage sale?
Regardless, what was it like to watch that short intact for the first time, Richard? Did you feel like you were watching an above average short,
or perhaps a minor masterpiece?

Terrific news! The lost gems just keep on comin'. Looking forward to the day one of youse guys opens a musty can, pulls out a reel and sees "Hats Off" etched on the leader.
I'll be in the audience enjoying Mr. Parrott in Columbus, as usual. See you there!

Who knew there were so many variations for people to lose their pants in public?
Re: Lost Charley Chase Comedy repremieres at Cinevent
That's very exciting! Wish I could be in Columbus.

This is great news. More prime Charley Chase is always welcome.

Thoroughly enjoyed "The Way of All Dress" (UK title) at Cinevent. A lot of huge laughs by an enthusiastic crowd made it a real joy. Chase, as usual, was marvelous... but I think that dog stole the film!

"The Way of All Dress" is the American title of a different Chase film, "Charley Transgenders".
