Tom Lehrer RIP

No one lives forever -- except, perhaps, Shirley MacLaine. This is where we ring down the final curtain for Filmdom's finest.

Tom Lehrer RIP

Postby Richard M Roberts » Mon Jul 28, 2025 3:00 am

Wow, another comedy great gone.

He hadn't performed in decades, and his actual output was small, but the songs he wrote were all gems. For a definite left-brainer (he was a math genius who taught at a number of Universities), he had a wonderfully creative sense of humor.

Here's a rare full concert from Copenhagen sometime in the 1960's:

Rest in Peace Professor Lehrer.

If you didn't like enjoy that performance, you're sure not to like his beloved tune "Silent E" from THE ELECTRIC COMPANY.

As for me, I'd rather be a duck-billed platypus than Oedipus Rex.
