Hmm...I'll believe it when they learn to spell "Charley" Chase's name correctly...meanwhile still waiting for my CUT TO THE CHASE set to arrive, looking forward to the rare title on the set, CHARLEY, MY BOY.

Re: Columbia Charley Chase Shorts to be Released on 1/1
Practically my first exposure to the Columbia Chases -- I'm greatly enjoying that DVD and do hope that Columbia follows up with more, Chase Vol.2, and hopefully Langdon at some point. There seem to be rumors that all there might be is this first volume though -- does anyone know if there's substance to that? Since all the Columbia comedy shorts have been impeccably restored under the supervision of Grover Crisp, and the release is MOD, it doesn't make much sense to me, unless it's about the cost of video transfers...

It's the cost of the transfers.
I had read (I believe on FB) that the only reason this collection got released is because the transfer work had already been done over a decade ago and so they were just sitting on a shelf ready to go.

Mike Schelesinger at Sony played a major part in getting the Chase Comedies released. If anybody would know about Volume 2 it would probably be him.

Unfortunately, Mike Schlesinger has retired from Sony as of last year.
