Laurel & Hardy in "Jailbirds"

If you're like me (and let's hope you're not), you love coming across every little bit of Laurel & Hardy ephemera. Here's something I just posted on youtube: the original opening titles for the UK release of JAILBIRDS (aka PARDON US), which are found on the Italian dubbed print of MURAGLIE released on DVD in Italy.

As a bonus, you get to hear the Italian voices of Stan & Ollie for a few minutes... :)

Ciao!

Interesting that there's no mentiion of MGM in the titles. Were the Roach film distributed by someone else in Europe?

That's a good question; I emailed Glenn Mitchell about that one. I haven't seen any "first run" international releases of the boys' Roach/MGM-era films that don't have Leo on there -- that goes for the phonetic foreign language versions, which all boast the MGM logo on the titles.
Hmmmm....
