Neutralizing Vinegar prints

Postby ralph celentano » Sun May 06, 2012 2:05 pm

This process has neutralized my mild Vinegar prints.

1. Clean print with Film Renew

2. Put print on metal reel or core in larger metal can with a cube of Camphor for 4 to 6 weeks.
NOTE: Plastic reels/cans might dissolve and cardboard boxes has acid that can be absorbed.

3. When neutralized, store in film can. (I have 20s Camphor prints stored in their original cans with no V).

4. Check periodically if OK. If not, repeat process.

NOTE: Camphor is a prime ingredient in the film process. Prints that take up like an egg will get their flexibility back.

Hope this info helps.
