Edgar Kennedy in German

Postby Ed Watz » Sat Mar 26, 2022 9:00 am

Here's a German language series broadcast by ZDF in the 1970s & '80s, Väter der Klamotte. My wife remembered these well from her childhood days in Bavaria. Basically they were a mishmash of comedy sequences, in this case a half hour episode combines two fairly complete Edgar Kennedy RKO shorts, DUMB'S THE WORD (1937) and AN APPLE IN HIS EYE (1941). The opening and closing credits are of special interest as we see a broad spectrum of comedy clips from Sennett, Roach, Educational, Christie, and others.
