The Man from Egypt (1916)

Here's a link to a Dutch print of the Larry Semon-directed 1916 Vitagraph one-reeler THE MAN FROM EGYPT. Co-written with Graham Baker, it stars Hughie Mack with Jewell Hunt, Kate Price, and William Shea:

I'm not one to comment on musical scores too often -- to each their own. But who thought romantic piano sonatas fit the bill for a Hughie Mack comedy? Maybe the Dutch thought they were watching a Maurice Costello Vitagraph?

BTW -- this didn't look like a Semon-directed opus until the cast began cavorting across those Brooklyn rooftops. I love those shots of the cities.
