"His Musical Sneeze" (1919) starring Lloyd Hamilton, prod by Lehrman and dir by Jack White, is now available to watch on the Danish Film Institute's website. I scored the film for the DFI last year, and they've just posted it on their website. The film turned up in their collection in 2009 and has been preserved. It's a big fragmenty and there's some decomp, but what survives is quite good and quite funny.

Click here to go to the DFI's page for the film. Scroll down, click on the 'full screen' option, then play. Enjoy!

Thank you, Ben, for bringing this to our attention. I've been looking forward to seeing this film ever since it was discovered and identified several years back.

The rabbit and skunk I can accept, but where the hell did the lion come from? Never mind; it's a Lehrman/Jack White film.

SQUEEEEEEE!! Virginia! SQUEEEEEEE!! Thank you, thank you! I loved the rabbit--Bugs Bunny's grandfather? Was that lion statue from the Selig Zoo?

Virginia's (rather, Henry's) variation on the old mirror gag is... remarkable.

Were the hunters in a minefield?
Every time their guns went off it looked like the Western Front.

Hamilton's character hadn't evolved yet. He played more of a Sennett comic here.
(Did Billy Bevan take note of hunting behind small mobile twigs?)
One of the few instances where I saw his 'simp' character emerge was when he
discovers the skunk in the bag and instead of over emoting he merely closed his
eyes and calmly waddles away toward a tree trunk to dispose of the stink.

And I do believe it was in Lehrman's contract that an appearance by the lion was
mandatory for everyone of his films.

Now I have to go look up what "SQUEEEEEEE!! Virginia! SQUEEEEEEE!!" means....

Thanks for the tip, Ben.
Enjoyed watching this rarity which looked like a Larry Semon comedy to me.
Nice to see the rarely seen Virginia Rappe.
Just wanted to say I also noticed:
Glen Cavender as Rappe's father
Charlie Bowers as Ham's Rival
and Jack Cooper the character in Ham's auto.

StevO, you mean Charles Dorety as the rival? Ham's parental figure is Jimmie Adams.

Sharp, Steve! Yes, my mind was sleeping! Charles Dorety I did mean.
Thanks Steve! And that's not Jack Cooper? It's Jimmie Adams?
Looked a lot like Coop and it does look like Adams!
Make-up creates such illusions (and delusions!)
Thanks again, Steve!

I'm pretty certain that the Maid in the mirror gag also plays Lucille Carlisle's maid in The Show ... any ideas what the actress's name is?

Rob, it's Madame Sul-Te-Wan in this and THE SHOW. She pops up in a lot of comedies, including Lloyd's DR. JACK.
