All over the web available for download is a few hundred or so Matinee with Bob & Ray episodes from Boston in the late 1940's and early 1950's. Even the most casual listening reveals the air dates commonly listed for these shows are off. I hunted around on the web for a correct listing and found this entry:
November 17, 1949. WHDH, Boston. Sponsored by: Chesterfield, Nutro Anti-freeze, Soapene, Pick-Sweet Vegetables. A visit with Ben Dover, the kindly old philosopher, Linda Lovely, "The Question Man." Guest: silent film comedian Billy Bevan. Bob Elliott, Ray Goulding, Bill Green (piano), Ken Wilson (organ), Billy Bevan. 1/2 hour. Audio condition: Excellent. Complete.
Now one of the shows in the downloads is dated November 17, 1949 but it is actually the December 25, 1948 show. Maybe somewhere in the jumble of shows exists the Bevan episode but I have had no luck finding it. Has anyone had any luck finding this episode? The online listing I did find looks correct.
Hang by your thumbs...

Good news: I found the Nov 17, 1949 program.
Bad news: It features Billy B. Van not Billy Bevan.
Good news again: It's always fun to hear Bob and Ray anyways.

Is it a downloadable MP3? Do you have a link for it?

To listen, go to this page:
http://always-share-otr.ca/OTR%20Lists/ ... 20Ray.html
and then select the Dec 25, 1948 show (it's really the Nov 17, 1949 show mislabeled). The interview starts at about 6 minutes in.
