Can we hear a rousing cheer for Brent Walker and Mack Sennett's Fun Factory?

Got my copy on pre-order at Amazon. We've also ordered one at the Library for the Performing Arts. Can't wait.

Thanks Joan! They've sent out review copies, and in their note to me said that it has a March 2010 official date, but that they are actually selling them now. I'm not sure if that means just through their website or Amazon as well.

I do find it curious that there are already speculators listing "used" copies on Amazon shops for more than the purchase price. I wrote a book about Mack Sennett, not pork bellies!

And when can we expect that pork bellies book?

Ingram the wholesaler has copies, is shipping them now, if all goes according to Hoyle I'll be reading it on the 25th. Great news!

Ian - Can you provide a link to their site?

Sorry, Jim, Ingram only supplies retailers. Your local bookstore (if there is one) could order it through them for you, though they'd have to mark up the price significantly (no dealer margin is available). Amazon may be accumulating orders before getting copies, so for the moment I reckon the fastest/cheapest way would be McFarland itself:

I received my copy of Brent's book yesterday, and it kept me up reading last night way into the wee hours. It's as terrific as we knew it would be. All Silent Comedy Mafia members are required to buy this book, and we'll be counting heads.

Bravo Brent!
