Belated (& slightly twisted) anniversary tribute to Shakespeare.
Rare chunk of Ben doing the Bard!

FANTABULOUS DAVE!

I think you found the missing film that completes the surviving incomplete footage!

This one moves pretty fast and maybe I'm getting a little too old to keep up with it, but always great to see "new" Turpin finds.

Thank you, Dave

Thanks for posting this Dave. MoMA has material on this, and although it's been a couple of decades since I've seen it, I think that they basically have the second reel.

Hi all, may I contribute with some images of the lavishly tinted & toned copy of Romeo and Juliet that I recently inspected in EYE, Amsterdam (thanks to Elif Rongen and Alexander Gilaitis)? EYE holds an incomplete first reel printed on Pathé stock, probably a European release print - but look at those colors!
Greetings from Belgium!

Hilde, you certainly know your way to this man's heart!

Would be great to sew this one back together as originally released, I'd love to see it all or most of it.

Thanks so much for sharing these images and for all your - and your teammates - hard work at EYE.

And thanks for keeping the memory and work of Ben Turpin (and many others) alive, Hilde.

Ditto what he said!
Thank you Hilde.
With MOMA, EYE and the other footage I posted, we may have it all!
