I have a complete 8mm print of this short. We did look at the UCLA print years ago, but I do not recall whether it was complete, however, if it was, we would have most likely run it at Slapsticon.

Now don't tell me you have that on 8mm too!

It is a very good Sennett/First National, and it;s nice to see Heinie Conklin in a late return to the Fun Factory.

You know, we always wanted to so a small guage show at Slapsticon, but we could never find a place where we could do it. We looked into getting rooms at the various hotels we used to put rogether a screening room where the throw would be amenable, but it never worked out.

And it is true, just as so much silent comedy only exists in 16mm, there's also a lot of silent comedy that only exists in other guages like 8mm and 9.5mm.

Hello Dave and Richard!

Dave, thanks for the link to that Turpin short, "Step Forward." Have to say the print looks great and I wish there was more, it's a rarer title.

Years ago Bill Sprague put the short on VHS which print I believe came from Richard's collection. More recently I was able to pick up a near complete copy in 8mm, but the better news is I think this title will be included in Paul Gierucki's Sennett Collection.
