Rick Scheckman RIP

No one lives forever -- except, perhaps, Shirley MacLaine. This is where we ring down the final curtain for Filmdom's finest.

Rick Scheckman RIP

Postby Richard M Roberts » Fri Mar 10, 2023 2:18 pm

Terrible news this morning that longtime Cinephile and Syracuse Cinefest Programmer Rick "Schecky" Scheckman has passed away. He was a fine film collector and historian and had worked for David Letterman through most of Letterman's run on television at NBC and CBS. He was a friend and will definitely be missed.

Schecky had recorded a terrific interview for Mark Malkoff's Carson Podcast a few years ago, here it is:

and here's a tribute to Schecky put up on David letterman's Youtube channel:

Rest in Peace Schecky.

Leonard Maltin has written a nice tribute to Schecky:

So sorry to hear this, another great guy taken from us too soon.
