Johnny Crawford RIP

No one lives forever -- except, perhaps, Shirley MacLaine. This is where we ring down the final curtain for Filmdom's finest.

Johnny Crawford RIP

Postby Richard M Roberts » Fri Apr 30, 2021 6:38 am

A terrific child actor famous for playing Mark McCain, son of Chuck Connors on THE RIFLEMAN (1958-63), but many here may not know that Johnny was also a serious film buff and collector. Here is a picture of him visiting Bob Lee's Essex Film Club in the mid-1960's:

Johnny was also an old music fan and historian who led his own terrific hot dance orchestra as an adult:

Other films appearances post- RIFLEMAN included the Academy Award winning short film THE RESURRECTION OF BRONCHO BILLY (1970), Howard Hawks' EL DORADO (1967) with John Wayne and Robert Mitchum and THE GREAT TEXAS DYNAMITE CHASE (1976) with Claudia Jennings.

Sadly, Johnny had been suffering from dementia the last few years, and he passed away on Thursday at the age of 75. Rest in Peace Johnny.
