Ed Stratmann RIP

No one lives forever -- except, perhaps, Shirley MacLaine. This is where we ring down the final curtain for Filmdom's finest.

Ed Stratmann RIP

Postby Richard M Roberts » Sat Dec 12, 2020 11:58 pm

Another lousy bit of news: my old friend Ed Stratmann passed away on Thursday at the too early age of 67, he had been an Archivist and Preservationist at the Eastman House for 42 years and had retired several years ago for health reasons. Ed was basically the James Cozart of Eastman House, someone who had forgotten more about film restoration and preservation than most will ever learn, and was responsible for many of the Eastman House's most well-known and important restorations including THE TRESPASSER (1929) with Gloria Swanson, and THE LOST WORLD (1925). He was also a terrific person, kind, gentle, easy to get along with, and happy to share his knowledge with anyone. He will be missed.

Our condolences go out to his Family, rest in peace Ed.
