Re: Larry Semon DVDs

Many thanks for the info guys, really glad I asked the question as you've saved me a load of disappointment and a lot of money! Will now explore the Grapevine and Alpha collections instead.

Larry Semon DVDs

I'm posting this as I'm hoping someone can give me some advice. I am an avid Laurel & Hardy fan and collect all of their films; I have most of their available solo works including all of the Larry Semon films that have Oliver Hardy in them (except 'The Head Waiter') but these are typically of fa...

Re: Laurel & Hardy in "Morton's Plumbing Shop"

Amazing but great that material is still being unearthed - maybe one day someone will find a copy of 'Hats Off'! Ok, I know that would seem unlikely... Anyway, this is a really great book and disc, highly recommended. All credit to John Tefteller and team for making this available.

Re: THE BATTLE OF THE CENTURY on ARTE Jan 2, 2019

Exciting news! Now I need to find out how to access ARTE TV in the UK to avoid the disappointment of not being able to see these. Do you know when the other L&H material will be shown?

On a related note, is Lobster planning to make these shorts / films available on DVD?

Re: ATOLL K coming to blu-ray from the BFI

Thanks for posting this Chris - it's really good news!! I saw this at the BFI a few years ago and have ben hoping for a commercial release ever since, and now it's finally here and with good bonus material too. I know this film is much reviled but personally I quite like it. In my opinion it's certa...

Re: Okay-----NOW!: CHARLEY CHASE AT HAL ROACH: THE TALKIES VOLUME ONE 1930-31

I must admit that Charley Chase is a new discovery to me - I'm a big Laurel & Hardy fan and purchased this DVD mostly out of curiosity. But wow! - I'm very impressed, really enjoyed the films. The guys at Sprocket Vault have done a truly outstanding job as always - really clean prints, good clea...

No Place Like Jail

Does anyone know if the Stan Laurel film 'No Place Like Jail' exists? I've read a number of articles which say it was available from Emgee Films on Super8 / 16mm - but surely that must be old information as I thought they went out of business years ago. Can anyone confirm what the current position a...

Re: Billy West Festival

It will be an interesting watch. I have seen some of these films and do have an incomplete copy of 'The Candy Kid' - is the version made from your print the entire film? Also, on the subject of Billy West, I have a minute and a half's footage from 'Playmates' - do you know if this is all the footage...

Re: NEXT DOOR NEIGHBORS (1931) Edgar Kennedy, Arthur Housman

Just watched this - hilarious. Thanks for pointing us to it…I've always liked Edgar Kennedy and it's good to see Arthur Housman too, as I think he doesn't get the recognition he deserves.
