FIGHTING BLOOD ID Needed

The following image is a production shot from the first FIGHTING BLOOD series (1923). Director Mal St. Clair second from left and star George O'Hara on the right. Can anyone ID the other two fellows? http://i524.photobucket.com/albums/cc328/PatheLehrman1950/Fighting%20Blood%20press%20photo-eBay.jpg ...

Re: Alice Howell on a railway line...

Looks like a clip from THE GREAT SMASH (L-Ko 05/10/1916) with Howell, Griffith, and Billy Bevan. Thanks so much for posting this link! You'll be able to read about this film and so much more of Henry Lehrman's output in my upcoming book MR. SUICIDE, soon to be published by BearManor Media. Tom Reeder

Henry "Pathe" Lehrman Images

Hi All: I've finally submitted my manuscript on the life and films of silent comedy pioneer Henry Lehrman to the publisher for editing. I'm now in the process of organizing and selecting the images I have amassed to-date for inclusion with the text. That said, I could use some more, so if there is a...

Re: Nitrateville Answer Dept: Billie Reeves

I think he's in Pathe's 1930 Monty Banks-directed NEAT AND TIDY as well.

Re: Chaplin impersonators

Great footage, David, and the imitator's not half-bad. Love the monkey, though, and the quiet dog sitting beside him (her?).

Chai Hong's Origins

When Chai Hong was introduced to moviegoers as L-Ko's new comedic find in mid-1918, he was frequently billed as "Charlie of/from the Orient" and touted as being "the only Chinese Comedian in Pictures." I had no real reason to either believe or brush off those assertions, given th...

Re: Victor Potel's Paintings

Hmm, that didn't work. Instead, go to eBay and enter "Victor Potel" and it will be the first item that pops up.

Re: Victor Potel's Paintings

A friend helpfully pointed me in the direction of another painting by Potel, this one posted on eBay. This image is clearer and shows Potel at work on a portion of the painting: [url]http://www.ebay.com/itm/1941-Press-Photo-Victor-Potel-Painter-/351439841427?hash=item51d3726893:g:ufkAAOSwYGFUy0FG [/...

Re: Victor Potel's Paintings

Thanks so much for that post, Ian. Alas, it's too bad that the resolution is so poor. I can pick out a few familiar faces from the crowd, but any attempts to place Henry Lehrman in the painting are futile; too many mustaches!

Victor Potel's Paintings

While digging through old periodicals in my ongoing search for any new snippet of info regarding Henry Lehrman, I came across several articles that talk about Victor Potel's painting abilities, and one piece in particular. The following is from Lee Shippey's "Lee Side 'o L.A.," Los Angeles...
