"Safety Last" To Beat The Quarantine Blues

https://www.slashfilm.com/the-quarantine-stream-safety-last-is-one-of-the-all-time-great-silent-films/ So, it certainly isn't uncommon for silent film fans to sing the praises of Safety Last. In my opinion we all should .... I think it's a fantastic movie. What's less common is for people who like f...

So then basically all those Marvel superhero movies with all the CGI automatically better then anyting we seek out. The Marvel movies are everywhere and all the Millennials love them so does that make them better?

Polio and diphtheria used to be pervasive too, but it doesn't mean I want them either.

Re: Caveat emptor: Cohen Media's SEVEN CHANCES

This reminds me of a situation years ago with the Chaplin films. My husband was in a store with used disks and found someone had dumped all the Image discs for the Chaplin movies and bought them for me as a present. He was so proud of himself getting those for me very cheaply, but. Was later dismaye...

Bob Dorian

For those of us who remember AMC before it turned to utter crap, it is sad to hear of the passing of Bob Dorian who hosted when it was truly "classic".

Re: THE SEVENTH DAY (1922) Richard Barthelmess

Thanks, After I post it I did go digging and found how to set up the captions, but yes they were only in Spanish. I did take Spanish in high school but 40 years ago it's not really coming to me well enough to really enjoy the movie. Thank you for the one that has the translation in English that when...

Re: THE SEVENTH DAY (1922) Richard Barthelmess

Help! Godfather, can you tell me where to look for the auto Translate? Is it just on this film or does YouTube have that? Quite a few films are in other languages that I don't understand and the only copy is not translated. Comedies are a little easier to to do when you don't have all the title card...

SF Silent Film Festival

I just saw a banner on "The Silent Era" website that advertised the SFSFF for May 29- June 1.

So, have they decided not to have it in July because it it no fun if they aren't practally on top of Slapsticon, or is it just fun now to chase Cinevent in Ohio?

Re: SENNETT and CHAPLIN MUTUALS available for pre-order!

What perfect timing! No one else gave Chaplin such a wonderful birthday persent (isn't 125 a milestone birthday?). I am so happy to see this finally released...after all your hard work! As to the decision to go Blu-ray, bravo! I have noticed that some films that have required a great deal of restora...
