Re: SOFT SHOES (1925) Harry Carey
This movie shares many historic locations appearing in films with Charlie Chaplin, Harold Lloyd, and Stan Laurel. It really is a time machine. https://silentlocations.files.wordpress.com/2018/03/soft-shoes-sfsff-1.jpg I've written a post all about it https://silentlocations.com/2018/03/23/restoratio...

Richard Dix rooftop stunt matches Laurel & Hardy's "Liberty"
Richard Dix slips from a prison hospital roof in “Day of Reckoning” (1933), filmed at 939 S. Broadway, the same spot Laurel & Hardy used when scrambling around a construction site in “Liberty” (1929). What’s more, Our Gang filmed there first for “The Old Wallop” (1927), and Our Gang star Spanky ...

How did he do that? I'm stumped. There seems insufficient forward speed for his loop to be genuine. Was there a wire? Was there a hand-hold at the top? Thanks for pointing this out.

Pioneer Women Filmmakers at the Chaplin-Keaton-Lloyd alley
One big surprise from the beautiful new Kino Lorber Blu-ray release Pioneers: First Women Filmmakers is witnessing the Chaplin-Keaton-Lloyd alley in Hollywood appear in several films, each made years before the gents all filmed there. https://silentlocations.files.wordpress.com/2018/12/The-Purple-Ma...

Chaplin The Kid - every scene now identified
Every scene from the beginning of Chaplin’s The Kid (1921) is now identified. He blended scenes filmed in Hollywood, south of the Plaza, and north of downtown on New High Street, where Harold Lloyd filmed, all in these brief scenes. https://silentlocations.files.wordpress.com/2018/11/plaza-view-west...

Keaton's Bungalow Just East of MGM
These and other fun publicity photos of Buster were filmed on Grant Avenue in front of the bungalow Keaton rented just outside of MGM, before they built the Keaton’s Kennel dressing rooms for him on the studio lot. That's a former Culver City mortuary at back visible through Keaton's tennis racket. ...

Re: More on His Day Out - Oliver Hardy filmed at the Chaplin-Keaton-Lloyd alley
I may post this some day, but Billy West filmed Don't Be Foolish beside this two story home that once stood on Cosmo at the east end of the Chaplin-Keaton-Lloyd alley. https://silentlocations.files.wordpress.com/2018/11/dont-be-foolish-billy-west-internet-archive-13.jpg It appears in Keaton's Neighb...

More on His Day Out - Oliver Hardy filmed at the Chaplin-Keaton-Lloyd alley
Oliver Hardy and Colleen Moore also filmed by the Chaplin-Keaton-Lloyd alley in Hollywood, across the street. It’s amazing how everyone filmed on this one block. Here's Hardy in Billy West's Chaplin knock-off His Day Out (1918). Thanks Richard for letting us know about this film being online (see re...

Buster and WC beside the same Astoria apartment
Buster Keaton and W.C. Fields filmed movies beside the same Astoria apartment building nine years apart. They literally faced each other onscreen. https://silentlocations.files.wordpress.com/2018/07/the-chemist-running-wild-pan.jpg Read more about Keaton’s The Chemist (1936) and Fields’ Running Wild...
