Re: Ben Turpin in BUCKING THE TIGER (1917)

Thanks so much for posting, Bruce. I'm glad they didn't stick Ben in a cage with a real tiger! ...Vogue could have and would have!

Re: Any info on George Rowe?

Hello Louis...
Steve Massa researched the little oddity George Rowe for a cover article in Slapstick! magazine years ago.
The back issues have been turning up at eBay and - to my surprise - going for big bucks.

Re: Madeline Hurlock Like You've Never Seen Her!

Hello Jim and Chris... I've actually been bidding on this. It's definitely Madeline Hurlock's head superimposed on Marion Bryon's body. WHAT? LOL It's so weird to see this much Madeline Hurlock. I think this was probably taken before she joined Sennett. And she looks so gone in this pic. What was sh...

Re: Peggy Aarup

That's real nice that this family member posted her bio of Peggy Aarup, whom was pretty obscure to me, but a name I knew. Looks like she had a nice little career, too. We should ask this family member to post us a nice portrait of Peggy, as most of us may be able to place her in some particular come...

Re: Peggy Aarup

Hello Tom, I don't know of Peggy's involvement at Sennett, but I have seen her name tied as the star to at least a couple of Lehrman Knock-Outs of 1919, "Let Fido Do It" a three reeler with Dick Smith and, "Gymbelles and Boneheads," two reels, with a young Billy Bevan made shortl...

Re: Langdon interviews

Hmmmmmm... 3rd column, 3rd paragraph:
"In 1920 I took a film test." Typo? Or do we know Langdon took a film test in 1920?
(I didn't, only knew about the Sol Lesser one in 1923).
Thanks for posting Andrew.

Re: Here's the BECOMING CHARLEY CHASE booklet

Richard, thanks for linking us with the DVD brochure. At first I thought I was ripped!
Great set of which I'm watching for the second or third time now!
Thank you David Kalat and all the gangsters involved!

Re: Robert Cushman

Patty... I am so sorry to hear this. I was only recently meaning to drop Robert a letter and your post caught my eye. He was such a friendly fellow via email, and we traded dozens of stills with each other. Next to eBay, he was the largest source for my Ben Turpin collection. My respects to his fami...

Re: Contacting actors - need help

Lou, you should try the Screen Actors Guild or the other similar organizations.

Otherwise hit the phonebooks and start dialing! Took me a while to find Madeline Hurlock when she was right there in the NYC phonebook all the time for 50 years.

Good luck!

Re: Locomotives and Comedy

Wow I must have missed the train! I was wondering what happened to almost everyone at si-com.com Now I know! Hello everyone, old friends and new. I'm happy to be here. Just enjoyed Gary's train video - thanks for the tip, Paul. The guy and girl hopping the train is Mabel Normand and Ralph Graves in ...
