Re: SMILEAGE GUARANTEED HAL ROACH BOOK ON SALE NOW!
Happy New Year to all silent Comedy Mafiosi! Richard, all sources that I've been able to access indicate that this masterpiece is now out of print. Happy news for you (and your accountant), I'm sure. However, woe is me for not jumping on the chance to purchase it earlier. While I readily anticipate ...

Re: Unidentified Sid Smith
Hi gang,
I did a little detective work - I think this is a print with Danish titles. I think the title may be KING FOR A DAY, if that helps. Here's a link with some more info:

I'm in agreement - more so Stan Laurel rather than Austin, and the second is assuredly Charles Parrott.

Re: Nitratevile Stupidity Dept: THE PHOTO-DRAMA OF CREATION
The narrator also sounds so much like Fred Duprez, I half expected him to break into a recitation of HAPPY THO' MARRIED.
"I was introduced to her by a chap to whom I owed five dollars...now he'll never get it."

You could have saved your discomfort Gary, that Madacy KINGS OF COMEDY set from the SLAPHAPPY series was a legitimately licensed release. RICHARD M ROBERTS[/quote] I'm glad to hear this - I picked up a copy at FYE a few years ago, and was delighted to find out it was half of the Slap Happy collectio...

Re: What Happened to Kalton C. Lahue
My first exposure was receiving BOUND AND GAGGED one Christmas as a boy. This led me to seeking out anything Mr. Lahue wrote, either at my local library or bookstores (used and new) when I was older. Over time, I was able to track down and purchase WORLD OF LAUGHTER and GENTLEMEN TO THE RESCUE. I th...
