Re: Groucho's Sunset Boulevard

I wonder (though I don't wonder for very long) about whatever became of the Zombie-Stoliar "Raised Eyebrows" project. On a related topic, I caught FADING GIGOLO recently and was delighted to see that much of it was filmed in my old stomping grounds of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I was born in ...

Re: THE OLD WALLOP (1927) Our Gang

Sincere thanks to you Geoff, and to Michelle and all those who had a hand in restoring THE OLD WALLOP. And a special Thank You for having shared it on Youtube, knowing that it was destined to be pulled. The talkie version of Charley Chase's SNAPPY SNEEZER had been similarly posted on YouTube back in...

Re: "Wheeler & Woolsey" now an eBook

Thanks, Pasquale - I'm very glad that you've enjoyed the book! It was written in those pre-internet days - when we had to do a lot of squinting at out-of-focus microfilm viewers. Having access to the RKO production files was a great help, incidentally so were all the Hollywood veterans who generousl...

The Charley Chase Scrapbook now on Amazon

Amazon has now begun selling new copies of THE CHARLEY CHASE SCRAPBOOK, which was initially published by Walker & Anthony Books about a year ago. If you somehow missed purchasing the book back then, it's definitely worth getting -- an invaluable look into Charley's personal memorabilia, with man...

I doubt it will help him, but perhaps the guy from Brazil would understand a visual analogy. Here Moe and Larry represent Logic. Curly is the Guy From Brazil.

Re: Ed Watz thumbs up on WHEN COMEDY WAS KING DVD

Richard, I was glad to add my two cents to all the 5-star reviews WHEN COMEDY WAS KING is getting on Amazon. Apart from the film itself (which never looked or sounded better than it does now), Richard's audio commentary is the closest thing to a Slapsticon Event until the next show comes around. Lik...

Re: Restored WHEN COMEDY WAS KING DVD from Sprocket Vault

Regrettably Amazon won't ship this title overseas but fortunately a friend will forward my DVD once she receives it. Just bringing this up because I'm sure that many international members of the SCM will want to own this restoration, perhaps Sprocket Vault can intervene on their behalf?
