Re: THE CAMERAMAN (1920) Billy Franey

One of my favorite "little", or perhaps "minor", comedies. Always a pleasure to see it. About ten or fifteen years ago, I was struggling to remember the title. Someone was able to identify it from my description of the running gag.

Re: Season's Greetings

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all my fellow Mafiosi! My son (and his dad, for that matter) is sure to have fun opening gifts tomorrow, as I've been hitting Amazon (for Disney) and eBay (for Blackhawk reels). All the joys and blessings of the season to you and yours.

Re: William K. Everson Audio Lecture Archive

I'd like to chime in. I first encountered Mr. Everson as a guest on Herb Graff's silent comedy programs on Channel 13 WNET back in the early 70s. This led to my seeking out his books, which have all survived several moves and house cleanings over forty-plus years. He knew his stuff, and it's clear h...

Re: Virtual Charlie Chaplin Days in Niles This Weekend

A follow-up to the Shoulder Arms screening. It is Dan Kamin's 1960's print of the 1920's re-release by Pathe, not the original 1918 version. May be the closest we ever get to see tho. Heck, I've got a Pathegrams original on that. That is not so special. RICHARD M ROBERTS Two questions: regarding th...

Re: ATLAS FILMS 8MM COLLECTING FOR THE FINANCIALLY IMPAIRED

This was fascinating! I spent many an hour in the mid-'70s in the camera department of Two Guys in North Bergen, NJ, perusing the Castle Films and Columbia 50- and 200-foot selections. For years, the prices were $1.99 and $4.99, respectively. Carnival and Atlas were, perhaps, a bit before my time, a...
