Question regarding THE STAGE HAND
This picture always seemed to me strangely extraneous to Langdon’s Educational series, but it may be an odder duck than I thought. I had assumed that in directing and writing it personally Langdon was seeing through a pet idea he had at the time, or that Arvid Gillstrom was temporarily unavailable. ...

Re: Ed Wynn introduces "Silent Television"
Happy New Year, Everyone. The CBC have posted another short slice of this CLOSE UP segment with some interesting comments from the Messrs. Keaton, Lahr & Foy:

Re: CAMERA Comedy Clippings, September 15, 1923
Two items came up when I ran the details on Clarke-Renalle through a newspaper search. In the Mansfield News, Nov. 23 1923: Grace Cunard will replace Rosemary Theby in "The Elk's Tooth," the Renalles, Inc. picture. The cast includes Kate Price, Peter Burke, George McDaniels, David Dunbar, ...

Re: And HELLO???
By my own machinations a copy was under the tree for me, and I've been gorging away on it this evening. Copious, thorough, authoritative, fascinating. Thank you!

Re: And HELLO???
Sorry, Jim, Ingram only supplies retailers. Your local bookstore (if there is one) could order it through them for you, though they'd have to mark up the price significantly (no dealer margin is available). Amazon may be accumulating orders before getting copies, so for the moment I reckon the faste...

Re: Buster Keaton's Silent 2-Reel Credits
Thank you for all these IDs, Steve. In this capture, the best view we get of the Rolls owner, he doesn't quite look like Bruckman to me: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2576/4161335318_c4f490afd4_o.jpg But I think this is Bruckman, along with Joseph Mitchell, standing by during the goat gland episode...

Re: Buster Keaton's Silent 2-Reel Credits
This would add very little to Keaton scholarship, and I expect that it's been noticed before, but I think Mal St. Clair is one of the two engineers from the train that nearly runs over Buster toward the film's end. Going out on a limb here: the equestrienne who receives the shock absorber does some ...

Re: CAMERA Comedy Clippings, September 15, 1923
Thank you again for posting these fascinating pieces, Joe. It's interesting, and, one assumes, coincidental, that Jacques Tati would come to be identified by his shortish triangular outer garment thirty years later. A great still from HORACE GREELEY JR. turned up recently on Ebay, with Harry, June a...
