early Charles Puffy 1914

Here is PUFI CIPOT VESZ, which I guess means something like 'Puffy buys shoes'. Interesting in that the other comic, the shoe clerk (Gyula Kobas), has most of the 'jokes'. Puffy is billed as Karoly Huszar.

Re: WHITE CLOUD'S SECRET (1912) Nestor Drama

A young Leo Maloney is Jack Meredith and Victoria Forde plays his wife.
I suspect George Gebhardt is the younger Indian and Jack Conway his father. Eugenie Forde may be the older woman.

I think Joseph DeGrasse is the rival.

Re: THE NAVAJO'S BRIDE (1910) Kalem Drama

Supposedly the lead Indian is Frank Lanning. I believe the taller Indian lass is Jane Wolfe. The white girl looks like Gene Gauntier (which makes a little sense if Sidney Olcott really directed this). At around the 7 minute mark, Ed Coxen is the cowboy under the Post Office sign. A shot in the dark ...

Re: Clowns

Giacomino was another clown who made films. Born Giacomo Cireni in Milan, he joined a circus at a very young age and ends up in Russia around 1903. If Circopedia is correct, he made three films in Russia in 1913: ZHAKOMINO GETS SEVERELY PUNISHED, THE PUNISHED LOVER OR FOOLED BY THE DRIVER and ZHAKOM...

Re: Amazing Russian comedy 1916

I have seen two more in the "Baldy" (Lysyj) series, BALDY-CAMERAMAN and BALDY INVITED FOR DINNER, also from 1916. They were incomplete, 3 or 4 minute chunks. I'd like to say that Reynolds is more restrained, no pelvic thrusts this time, but subtle he is not. These comedies are pretty simpl...

Amazing Russian comedy 1916

ok, it's only amazing that it got past the censor. Here is LYSYJ VIJUBLEN V TANCOVSCICU, I guess roughly translated as "Bald is in Love with the Dancer" starring and directed by Reynolds (R. Rejnol's). David Robinson mentions him quickly in "The Great Funnies". Apparently, 'Lysyj...

live-action Emile Cohl comedy 1911

Emile Cohl, eminent animation pioneer, also directed quite a few live action films, including the Jobard series starring Lucien Cazalis. Here, with English subtitles, JOBARD A TUE SA BELLE-MERE (Jobard has killed his mother-in-law). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9iqClY3OT4 I think Cazalis has a p...
