Re: Now *Here's* an Unusual Question

Well now, shouldn't we say "accused pedophile" when referring to Gus Meins, or was he ever found guilty of any charges? I sometimes wonder if he didn't commit suicide just because the accusations would have been enough to have ended his career as a Director of childrens comedies or anythi...

As I recall, there were four or five telegra...

Re: An Essay on Vitagraph Comedies

Great work, Steve!

I'm guessing that occasionally one series would overlap with another, as Bunny's Honeymoon is simultaneously a Bunny comedy and a Wallie/Wally Van "Cutey" comedy.

Re: The Groucho Marx FBI Files

What strikes me about the FBI files I've seen is that everything is just jumbled together: factual material, third-hand gossip and everything in between, prompting me to wonder about the reliability of the tipsters who provided much of this information to the agents who filed these various reports. ...

May and Harry... They Were So Great Together

Image
Who knew that May McAvoy and Harry Langdon did silent comedies together? Look at that train in the background... this still must be from The General.
