Re: Johnny Dooley Comedies

Sorry to post a vague reply, but I am away from my computer.

I know there were two Dooley brothers who were film producers and IIRC one of them was named William (not THE Billy Dooley of Christie fame).

Re: Trying to Recall a Sennett Title

The reason I was trying to get the title of this short was that in an effort to avoid homework I decided to try to receate from memory the intro montage that KWGN channel Denver would show before the film on their classic comedy film on Saturday morning. This would have been in the mid-70's. The vid...

Re: Vaudeville resources?

Back in the '70's when I was working in radio, BILLBOARD was the main chart mag for that station. I remember BILLBOARD had an anniversary issue that had reprints of various articles and and covers. One of the covers from 1901 had little Buster Keaton on the cover. I wish I had glommed that issue bef...

Re: Montgomery and Rock

While it is hard to nail down what the BFI has from sources in the US, I believe the BFI has DAMSELS AND DANDIES, CAVES AND COQUETTES, RUBES AND ROBBERS, and KNIGHTS AND NIGHTIES. DAMSELS AND DANDIES has been listed as a holding in an earlier published listing by the BFI. The others were described i...

Fox Silent Shorts List

Here is a compilation of Fox silent short films. The Educational, Roach, Sennett, Universal, and Vitagraph silent short filmographies are pretty much pegged, thanks to the efforts of many who post here. Fox still seems the informational black hole, mainly because 98% of them are gone and since Fox o...
