I, for one, am grateful that I can toss all those Chase shorts on VHS and DVD-R that I’ve gathered piecemeal at cons and odd airings on TCM. Still keeping my16mm Blackhawks, thank you.

The long shots and style of thrill comedy suggest Larry Semon, but when we get a medium shot of the farmer it looks like William S. Hart’s slapstick twin. Any ideas?

I don't know any particulars about ClassicFlix, but I would imagine that a business of renting classic movies on DVD by mail to a dwindling number of subscribers would have to be a very hard model to sustain. The lag you experienced was probably due to their having to use Media Mail to keep overhead...

This little mini-doc on the French Arte website is about the use of pastry in silent comedy. There are two clips of a Lloyd Hamilton silent that are new to me.
