Re: "Wheeler & Woolsey" now an eBook

This is an excellent book very well researched and written, supplemented by interviews giving delightful informative insights into each film and production of them. I received it as a Christmas gift a year ago and really enjoyed reading it. It's one of those well written books you can't put down onc...

Re: WEISS-O-RAMA on sale through Amazon from Sprocket Vault

One of the best all time DVD silent comedy collections, this DVD set contains some of the best comedians Ben Turpin, Snub Pollard, Poodles Hannaford and Jimmy Aubrey in several of the funniest and final silent comedies from the late 20's. This was the first time I got to see Jimmy Aubrey and Poodles...

Terrific comedy, lots of outrageous gags. Thanks for the link.
Is that Kewpie Morgan and Bobby Dunn in the cast?

Re: Mystery Phoney Chaplin Still

From blowing the picture up it's a man dressed as Chaplin, the hands are a give-a-way. Looks a lot like Harry Mann. He also seems to be wearing a pinky ring on his right hand, if that is any sort of clue.

Are you referring to Chaplin's comedy BY THE SEA?

Re: HAM AND THE JITNEY BUS (1915) Ham and Bud

Always enjoy these Ham and Buds for the sheer unadulterated rowdiness. What's interesting, seeing is the horse drawn wagons trotting in background as are the trolley cars driving up and down the streets. At one time LA had a very good public transport trolley system, but what the hell, got rid of it...

Re: ARBUCKLE RESTORATIONS ON TCM

Had the DVR set for these over a week ago. Just finished watching THE ROUND UP, what a pleasure seeing this for the first time, it was like watching a brand new film. In a sense it is, the restoration was beautiful. Looking forward to LIFE OF THE PARTY later on.

Re: Greenbriar Comedy Team Discussions

There were many movie goers of the 30's and 40's, born in the late 1920's, who were seeing Harry Langdon, Buster Keaton, Andy Clyde and Laurel and Hardy having no idea they made silents. Whole groups of people were enjoying these comedians work in the Educational, Columbia shorts and Laurel and Hard...
